What to Expect
Creation. Immersion. Joy.
Nestled in the sun-drenched landscape of southeastern Italy, this retreat in the Puglia (or Apuglia) region is an invitation to celebrate presence through the spirit of play.
For us, play is about creation, relation, and celebrating the simple beauty of being alive. It’s daily yoga and meditation practices in our serene indoor studio and outdoors in nature, bike rides through the countryside, exploring the ancient baroque city of Lecce, and handpan music echoing through olive groves. It’s working with your hands during a traditional pasta-making workshop, spontaneous dance parties, creating art. Quiet moments of renewal through guided meditation and sound healing to help us find gratitude and peace in the present moment.
You’ll experience a slower, authentic Italian pace of life: rustic red-earth countryside dotted with centuries-old olive trees, dramatic coastal cliffs, and calm, crystal-clear Adriatic waters. The warm, bright days balance shared group adventures with plenty of dedicated free time to rest, explore, or simply be. As crisp spring evenings settle in, they invite cozy dinners and deep, restful sleep.
These seven days together are a sacred window to drop in, shed daily worries, and adjust to the natural rhythms of living. Together, we’ll move, connect, create, and explore with nothing to prove and nothing special to achieve. You will return home deeply rested, carrying new intentions, reflections, and a re-anchored understanding of what matters most in life.

What others say about our teaching…
“Stephanie holds space beautifully for people of all background and experience levels. It is always a joy to practice with her!”

“I loved the chance to spend a day [in Virginia] on rest and relaxation and contemplation infused with some great yoga and a great hike in a beautiful place! Stephanie did a phenomenal job tending to all the small things and created great open energy among the group.”
— Christine & Wilson (Jersey City, NJ)
“Steph provided an ideal balance of activity, reflection, nourishment, and rest [at the daylong retreat]. I left the feeling re-centered and reinvigorated. Thank you for creating this experience!”

“Our retreat with Jackie [in Virginia] was truly amazing. The yoga was great, varied, and focused deeply on structural alignment. In fact, I’ve adopted much better posture since then, both on and off the mat! The setting was magical. My sister and I enjoyed peaceful, silent birdwatching every morning, swam in local waters, and hiked to beautiful waterfalls. It hit all the best notes!”
— Anna & Sabina (Washington, DC | Berkeley, CA)
“Jackie’s mindful flow has fundamentally changed my yoga practice. Her focus on alignment, 360-degree breathing, and the ‘two bowls’ analogy has made me feel stronger, more stable, and deeply connected to my body. As I get older, avoiding injury is paramount; Jackie has given me the tools and confidence to practice safely for years to come. Her teachings are incredibly transformative.” — Scott (Washington, DC)
About Us

For nearly 15 years, Jackie has been sharing mindfulness tools all over the world. For many years Jackie taught yoga the way she lived, which was always rushing toward the next thing. These days, she’s much more interested in what happens when we slow down enough to feel what is already right here. Yoga isn’t about chasing some perfect posture or changing ourselves. In her classes, we unlearn that pressure and show up simply to experience the present moment, reconditioning both our minds and bodies so we can transition from always “doing” to simply “being.”
Jackie’s teaching blends this deep internal awareness with precise physical alignment to protect your body for a lifelong practice. Heavily influenced by Chuck Miller, she uses detailed cues, 360 degree breathwork, and proprioception techniques to turn anatomy into a mindfulness tool. By activating our hands, feet, pelvis, and head, we learn to distribute physical stress evenly, creating stability and ease at any stage of life.
Steph began her yoga journey when she studied abroad in Jaipur, India in 2004. Inspired by the benefits of breathwork paired with intentional movement, she explored different yoga practices for over ten years and completed a 200-hr Yoga Teacher Training in 2017, focused on the Iyengar (alignment) tradition. Steph teaches classes and workshops all over the world (currently based in Bologna, Italy) and creates meaningful experiences in tune with the rhythms of the earth. Steph brings movement, breathwork, and meditation into everyday life to normalize the practice for peers and co-workers. Laugher and levity is an important part of her practice!

Together, Steph and Jackie have taught a variety of classes and developed their unique individual and paired styles over the past four years since meeting each other in Washington, DC. Steph’s yin pairs well with Jackie’s yang and we thoroughly enjoy crafting unique experiences that take practitioners deeper into their own practice. Classes and workshops include Partner Yoga, Kids’ Yoga, 108 Sun Salutations to celebrate the changing seasons, and more!

Mid-April in the Puglia (or Apuglia) region in southeastern Italy is pure magic. Located in the “heel” of the boot, spring awakens the landscape with bright sunshine, gentle sea breezes, and fields carpeted in blooming red poppies and wildflowers.
The retreat site Masseria Torre Luciana is located 20 minutes by car or 40 minutes by bike from the city of Lecce, which is known for its golden baroque buildings, historic old town, art, and beauty. The sea is a 30-minute car ride away.
Picture warm daytime temperatures perfect for moving outdoors, ancient olive groves shimmering under clear blue skies, and quiet turquoise coastlines without the summer crowds. The air smells of salt water, pine, and wild herbs, while the golden Lecce limestone of the nearby towns glows softly in the late afternoon sun. It is a time of seasonal abundance, where open-air markets overflow with fresh-picked artichokes, tender fava beans, fragrant local strawberries, and sweet, juicy loquats. It’s a peaceful, vibrant, and incredibly nourishing time to explore and unwind.
The price of the retreat includes three meals a day: a light breakfast, lunch, and dinner prepared the Masseria’s organic partner agritourism, located 100 meters from the retreat center. Meals will be primarily vegetarian and celebrate the true flavors of a Salento spring and feature freshly harvested artichokes, tender fava beans, sun-sweetened strawberries, and cold-pressed olive oil. Please let us know in advance if you have any dietary restrictions or allergies.
The retreat will be intentionally small, between 10-12 participants, to allow for meaningful connection and making the most of your practice.
Alcoholic beverages are not included in the price of the retreat, but wine will be available for purchase during dinner. Please be mindful that we will be doing energy work and alcohol may distract from that. We also believe in balance and recognize that we are in Italy and you may want to enjoy a glass of wine 🙂
No. We ask all participants to respect the retreat space and the local community by not bringing or using illicit substances during the retreat.
All activities are optional. The retreat includes a rhythm of group practices and generous free time, and we encourage you to move at the pace your body is asking for. You’re welcome to join what feels supportive and take space when you need it.
This retreat is open to all levels, and you don’t need to be “advanced” or even “have a regular practice” to join us. However, we do recommend that you have an existing physical practice (it does not have to be yoga). Most importantly, we welcome students who are curious, open-hearted, and excited to deepen their understanding of yoga, both on and off the mat.
If you’re unsure whether it’s the right fit, feel free to reach out We are always happy to guide you. 💛
